A message from the owner
Hello, my name is Markie Mitchell and I am the proud owner of The Movement Center! When creating this program my first priority was to provide a safe space where our students feel loved, confident, and successful. As a coach I have worked with many gyms and studios over the past 15 years and seen many recreational programs. I wanted to create a place that was built on helping all of our students be proud of themselves, gain confidence, and feel like a part of something special regardless of if they are on a competitive team. Our students are not just a number to us, they are our family, our community and we let them know that they matter. We promise to be a friend, a mentor, and a support system for each of our students. The Movement Center is more than just a place, it is a community of loving, kind and passionate individuals that we are proud to be a part of.

When I’m not coaching, I enjoy crocheting, thrifting, improving my cheerleading skills and spending time with my family and friends. While I love all these activities, coaching is a significant part of my life that I’ve grown to adore. I believe that tumbling classes shouldn’t be viewed as a chore, but rather as an enjoyable escape for the athletes!
Avrey Askeroth
Acro and Tumbling Assistant Coach
Avrey started gymnastics when she was six years old and instantly fell in love with it. She spent much of her childhood training until, at eleven, she was diagnosed with a knee condition that forced her to stop something that made even bending her legs painful. After years of treatments and doctor visits, she eventually found her way back to what she loved by joining a dance class and acro at TMC.
Now, Avrey gets to teach something she truly loves while continuing to grow as a student herself at TMC. Her experience has taught her the value of perseverance, and she hopes to encourage her students to keep going, even when things feel tough, and to believe in what they’re capable of achieving.
